The passion of dancing has been with me since I was a young girl. I have always loved Persian dancing and would sometimes dance for hours at a time.

my story

I started learning different styles of dance, such as Indian, Salsa, Cha-Cha, and Tango, since I was 8 years old. Later in life, Ihad the opportunity to invest significant time and energy on my inner joy for dancing after immigrating to the United States. I was introduced to different dance styles such as Swing, Line dancing, Salsa, Merengue, Cha-Cha, and Tango. When I discovered the art of belly dancing, I discovered my real passion.

I was totally fascinated with this expressive, sensual, and elegant dance. Belly dance permeated my soul and has had a major effect on my life. Taking classes with various teachers and workshops gave me the opportunity to learn different techniques and styles for this dance. I also had the added bonus of meeting many amazing women from different parts of the world and different walks of life.

Some of the teachers who influenced my techniques are: Elnaar Hanina, Nadira Nassrin, Adriana, Artemis, Amara, Laurel Victoria Gray, Morocco, Tarik, Veda, Piper, Rachel Brookmire, and many more.

20 years experience

I have been teaching this beautiful dance for more than 20 years in Montgomery County, North Potomac Maryland. During this time my students and I have performed in many different venues and events such as family gatherings, fundraising events, social events and festivals.

I taught dance to students ranging from 5 to 75 years of age. Over the years,  I taught belly dance at the Montgomery County YMCA;  dance studios, yoga and zumba studios; and public and private schools.  Currently I teach classes in my home-based Nile Dance Studio in North Potomac , Montgomery County, MD.  Along the way, I met many amazing women and many of them are now my life-long friends. Our Monday night dance classes have transformed to a night of dancing, fitness and exercise, socialization and the exchange of our life stories. We not only get fit physically, we exercise meditation for our souls and hearts.
