A Lifetime of Dance, A Passion to Share
Dance has been my passion for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Iran, I fell in love with Persian dance and often spent hours dancing simply for the joy of movement and music. From an early age, I knew dance would always be an important part of my life.
I began learning a variety of dance styles at the age of eight, including Persian, Indian, Salsa, Cha-Cha, and Tango. After immigrating to the United States, I built a successful career as a civil engineer while continuing to pursue my love of dance. Even with the demands of a professional career and family life, I always made time to learn, perform, and grow as a dancer.
When I discovered belly dance, I found another passion that perfectly complemented my love of Persian dance. I was captivated by its beauty, elegance, expressiveness, and rich cultural heritage. Through years of study, workshops, and performances, I developed my skills while gaining a deep appreciation for both the art and the wonderful community that dance creates.
A few years ago, I expanded my dance journey by studying social and couples dancing, including Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Salsa, Swing, Merengue, and Tango. I continue to train because I believe the best teachers are lifelong students.
Today, I offer personalized private lessons with reasonable fees, allowing every student or couple to receive individual attention and instruction tailored to their goals, experience level, and learning pace. I specialize in Persian dance, belly dance, and wedding dance choreography. I enjoy helping couples create a memorable first dance, whether they prefer a classic slow dance, an elegant Persian couple's dance, or a personalized combination of styles for their special day.
At Nile Dance Studio, my goal is to provide a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where students of all ages and experience levels can build confidence, improve fitness, express themselves creatively, and experience the joy of dance. I believe it is never too late to discover the happiness, friendship, and personal growth that dance can bring to your life.

Three Decades of Dance & Teaching
For more than 30 years I have had the privilege of sharing my passion of dance by teaching students throughout Maryland.
Over the years, my students and I have performed at family celebrations, cultural festivals, fundraising events, community gatherings, and other special occasions. I have taught children as young as five and adults well into their seventies, proving that dance truly is for everyone.
Today, I offer personalized private lessons at my home-based Nile Dance Studio in North Potomac, Maryland, where each lesson is tailored to the individual goals, experience level, and interests of my students. My fees are very reasonable to make them affordable for everyone.
One of the greatest rewards of teaching has been the lasting friendships formed through dance. What begins as a dance lesson often grows into a supportive community where students gain confidence, improve their fitness, reduce stress, celebrate their cultural heritage, and discover the joy of self-expression. Dance is more than movement—it nourishes the body, inspires the mind, and lifts the spirit.
